So it has ended. Our first year at the fringe and we have taken A LOT away with us.

For starters flyering should start a week before the show. Our kind of audience started to pick up near the end of the run, you know, the people who walk in with an open mind and don't judge us from expectations of other shows that are nothing like ours and do not take us too seriously. We only want to have a laugh with you.

Second we have to admit the flyer was lacking information, the biggest being we are a cabaret act and not theatre. That was part of our problem. Some people who have never seen cabaret (you know who you are) thought of this as 'THEATRE' and my God you couldn't be further from the right genera.
In regards to the flyer, some people said they came for the fact Nick Pitera was featuring in the show. Yes that's right, FEATURING! Read the flyer. We never said it was unseen, we never said new and the point of the Nick spot was to give the audience something different from the blood and moody atmosphere, and to introduce Nick to people who have never seen him before. We e-mailed Nick a lot and he is a busy man. We were lucky to have him record an introduction for us let alone a whole new video. Also if your coming just to see Nick don't bother seeing the rest of the show because our styles are so polar opposite our show is far too surreal for you to handle.

Video's...people didn't like these...the point of the videos were not only to help with costume changes (which are needed) but also to add variety and show off another skill we have which is video making and editing. Each video is only about 3 minuets, maybe 4 minuets long and 12 minuets out of an hour show, I think can be forgiven time to be off stage.

I think part of our problem was also the venue. Don't get me wrong, Greenside was great and the staff were very supportive but it is not a cabaret spot. We need somewhere that people can relax, have a drink and have fun.

I'm sorry if I sound bitter writing these points (which I have more of but don't want to go on) but I'm not. I'm just sticking up for two people who worked really hard in the two months we had to put a show together. Ed Fringe was literally the first time we ever performed the show and if you came the first night and the last night, you would have seen a huge change in characters, pace and professionalism.
We appreciate all criticisms, good and bad but not if its unfair and doesn't consider that we are new, still developing and trying really really hard.

There are only two Gothic Gentlemen and we are coming back next year stronger and bloodier (but still with a mouse).
